Week At A Glance

Another busy week for Avery's Designs- 4 designs and... Avery's Designs is now on Facebook! 

The first design was a custom piece for PUYB Virtual Book Club, run by Dorothy and Tracee (Tracee is also the owner of The Zen Reader and I'm Shelf-ish)! Dorothy and Tracee wanted a design which incorporated both of them, bookshelves, and  the colour aqua. Together we came up with the following design! 

The next design was for Hayley of Booking It With Hayley G- Hayley was one of the winner's of Avery's Designs Grand Opening Celebration! Hayley really liked the Lily's Book Lair premade package so we changed it up a bit to best represent her! 

The next design was for Melissa of Buried Under Books. This is, without a doubt, one of my most favourite designs to date- partly because it allowed me to experiment and play around a lot and partly because it is so ME (I was totally one of those punked-out emo kids in high school, not unlike the avatar). For this design Melissa wanted the complete package- a blog design including meme banners and a design for bookmarks! 

The final design was for Carla of Library Mosaic. While I was admittedly a bit hesitant about the design colour (I'm more of a cold colour fan rather than a warm colour fan), I absolutely love how it turned out! This design was inspired by the story of the princess and the pea! 

Week At A Glance

These last 2 weeks have been crazy for Avery's Designs- I've completed 6 designs from start to finish!

The first design belongs to I'm Shelf-ish. Tracee chose one of my premade designs and I personalized it by modelling the avatar's hair colour after her own! 

The next design belongs to Dawn of Method to the Madness. Dawn wanted something extremely personalized, including some of her favourite things, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, leopard print, her laptop, and a lightsaber. You can see how I pieced together her header HERE. 

The next design can be found over at Heather's The (Mis)Adventures of a Twenty-Something Year Old Girl. Heather was one of the lucky winners of Avery's Designs Grand Opening Celebration. As such, she had the pick out of all of my premade designs! 

Bethzaida was also a winner of Avery's Designs Grand Opening Celebration complete blog makeover. She chose to use her design for her freshly minted Spanish blog, Chica de Biblioteca. 

Emily over at Falling For YA was also a winner- winning Avery's Designs very first giveaway! Emily considers herself to be a flower, lavendar, and umbrella design kind of girl, therefore she thought that my Wishes on the Wind design best suited her! 

The final design was custom-made for one of my library school friends, Laura of Confessions of... An Adult Teen Reader. Laura was looking for an avatar who looked just like her, wearing jeans, a plain shirt, and with lots and lots of hair (look at the definition of "mermaid hair" in the dictionary, and you will find Laura's picture). 

So, like I said, it's been a busy few weeks, but here's to many more busy weeks! 

Week At A Glance

While this has been the official first week of Avery's Designs, it's sure been a busy week! My first giveaway of winner's choice of a design has gone live (only a bit of time left to enter it) and I've sold my first two designs!

You can see the first design live over at Meredith & Jennifer's Musings (header, avatars, and button)! Meredith and Jennifer were looking for custom avatars which reflected themselves and they wanted to keep their purple theme. I loved custom-making these avatars and intend to have a whole line of them released within the next couple of weeks!

The next design (a head-to-toe makeover) can be seen over at Kayla's Bibliophilia, Please. When Kayla saw my The Ever-Growing TBR Pile design she knew that she had it, it reflecting her to a tee (the character having flaming red hair and a librarian)! With Kayla's help, we were able to decide upon a fitting font (something that was as user-friendly as possible, while still remaining stylish, for her patrons) and a coordinating background.

A HUGE thanks goes out to out all of these ladies for taking a chance at newbie me- and here's to (hopefully) many, many more future designs!
